WORKSHOP TESTIMONIALS
Emmeline was part of The Lakes International Comic Art Festival’s Cartoon-a-room. Emmeline brought her unique style and approach to the workshops, showing everyone how to create a character from a basic shape in a very fun and engaging way. A simple drawing of a triangle, quickly became a wonderful cartoon that Emmeline showed the children how to build on, to show personality and even a back story! Emmeline’s style is warm and welcoming and she was a great addition to the line-up.
- Marc Jackson - Cartoonist & director of the Cartoon-a-room at LICAF 2017
Working with Emmeline has been a real pleasure - she really relates to young people in a fun and informative way. Emmeline is willing to put in that bit extra. Her easy going, positive and gentle way of working brings results from people and her illustration work speaks for itself. Lovely to work with and look forward to the next time.
- Charlotte Newson, Creative Curve. Voyages and Travels Comic Workshop series.
Emmeline visited as a guest speaker to discuss her career and the life as a freelancer. Her industry experience and knowledge gave the students a valuable insight. Emmeline's message was positive, encouraging and authentic.

PANELS & TALKS
I am an experienced panellist for talks about comics, freelancing and the creative industries! I'm passionate about discussing the issues that affect freelancers and illustrators (e.g. taking the first steps into freelancing, finding inspiration, building a business, late payments, loneliness and overworking, finding work etc) as well as giving an insight into my technical processes of making illustration, picture books and comics.
I think it's important to speak candidly about my experience as a freelance illustrator, and to give an honest (but uplifting!) insight into the behind-the-scenes of life as an illustrator!
I've spoken on panels at the London Film and Comic Convention, National Freelancers Day and at a picture book event at Waterstones Glasgow.
